Three new properties in the New Territories provide us with some interesting feng shui tips this week.

Casa Marina
THIS property at 28 Lo Fai Road in Tat Po faces the deep-water Tolo Harbour, which symbolizes good fortune flowing in from all over the world. Residents, therefore, are likely to make money in international trade and business.

However, the waters of Tolo Harbour flow very quickly, which suggests an analogy of money flowing rapidly out of the pocket. Residents may tend to spend more and find it difficult to save.

But the huge amount of water flowing in and out of the harbour can boost residents' relationships. It's good for single men and women, who may acquire many admirers, but married couples should grow some plants on the west side of the flat to absorb water and thus the corresponding influences.

Since Casa Marina is located far from any mountains which could foster friendships and networking, this private housing estate is suitable for people whose jobs don't require so much human interaction.

Instead, it suits stock-market players and foreign-exchange invest tors who pay attention to global markets.

Ocean Pointe
LOCATED at 8 Sham Tsz Street in Sham Tseng, the property lies in the shelter of Tat Mo Shan. This mountain helps to maintain powerful chi (natural energy) that creates good forces.

The three blocks of Ocean Pointe are located along the seafront, but a little too closely. Standing by their windows, residents might feel as though they're falling down into the sea, and this can affect some people's emotions.

Young residents could find it difficult to concentrate on their studies. The higher the flat, the more the sense of instability. There fore, lower flats have better feng shui.

The best way to resolve this is to grow plants near the windows facing the sea so they will absorb water and its symbolic influences. You could also install low shelves, say a metre from the floor, to further balance the situation.

Symphony Bay
THIS complex at 530-533 Sat Sha Road in Sat Kung, is a good address thanks to the Tolo Channel. People living here enjoy the same good fortune afforded by the Tolo Harbour.

Port Island, situated in the mouth of the channel, forms an image of a barrier and symbolizes a pocket holding money, and by extension, holding onto money. This, of course, is important. As an old Chinese saying goes: "Luck can help you build a small fortune, but real riches result from saving." Thus the feng shui here can help you hold onto money.

The rocky mountain located at the back of this private estate is a bad ele ment, as stones suggest friction, and therefore tension among friends and colleagues could develop. People living here will easily become the talk of the town -- to the point of being the subject of gossip. That's all right, perhaps, for those in show business!
